Product Review | Vita Coco Coconut Oil

Coconut Oil as such does not require introduction to people in Asia, as it has been used for years. Growing up in the Southern part of India, where coconut oil has been used for everything. I really mean everything !! The only ingredient for Daily Cooking , saute-ing and tempering . It goes beyond the call of beauty for daily skin moisturiser and hair conditioner.  If you have got some chapped lips , use coconut Oil !! This ancient ingredient has been known for its versatility !!! But only recently I did use it for Baking !! It was fantastic - a little sweet aroma that came through the brownies in each bite.
I recall an incident from my childhood. It was one of those early mornings during my vacation. I woke up to have a wee leak and noticed my grandma walking to the backside of the house. A little puzzled, I stood there and watched her do her routine, stealthily and then I could unlock the secret to her naturally glowing skin.

Every Morning, when the clock strikes 5, my grandma fondly as I used to call her as Patty , would wake up before sunrise as part of the tradition. The house still pitch dark, she would tippy toe do her morning routine and light the lamp in front of God. Early morning hymes , bells cranking, pots clinking and a fresh round of Filter for the filter coffee , all begins after patty is ready for the day.
As she refers to as Kolla-pakkam , the backside of the house , the place used for extra chores - she would warm a couple of tsp's of coconut oil .While Oil is getting warmed up, she would get her 9yards saree , towel and everything needed to be ready like my perfect Grandmum.  A couple of drops of oil in each hand , gently rubbing them between the palms and then massage her legs and hands with them. All the left over oil would go on to the top of her head and massage her scalp and her locks . With the remaining oil in her palm, patty would massage her face. Leaving it over, for about 5 minutes, she would plan her day ahead for the day . Patty would complete her shower, wash her tress every single day in routine and get draped in her 9 Yards saree..  Patty has been following this periodically all through her life !! Good 75 years !!
A natural moisturiser  and a conditioner - right in your Kitchen !!The glow on her face and her skin remained as far as I could remember. It was all because of COCONUT OIL and her orderliness in her routine !!
Marvellous isn't it ??

Couple of month's ago, I was sent a sample of Vita coco Coconut Oil and I was all geared up to try them. Its a must ingredient in my Pantry from Cooking to everything - still following the tradition from my ancestors. But I must admit, I do use other oils - Sunflower, Olive Oil and Mustard Oil too. Vita Coco Coconut Oil - is the 'New' 'In'gredient for Cooking , Baking and Frying across Europe. For a healthier alternative , try smothering some on your toast too :)

Try Molagooshyam - A Mixed Vegetable lentil Soup that has got a dollop of coconut Oil. Its a comfort food to me  that can be had with some steamed White Rice and can be cooked in a jiffy.
How about some traditional Beetroot Stir fry , Pumpkin Coconut curry or some coconut curry leaves Chutney? I have used coconut oil for all of them , either for tempering or salute -ing.
Try some Brownies - By replacing half the portion of Butter with Coconut Oil. You are sure to love them.

According to Vita Coco There’s only one ingredient in our coconut oil and that’s organic, 100% raw, cold-pressed, extra virgin coconut oil. We’re not exaggerating. We swear by it.

Why not pick a container of Vita Coco Coconut Oil and see how versatile the ingredient is !! Its available in all our local retailers.. If not order at Amazon UK You will not regret using them .
